Browse: people

From November 30 to December 12, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (hereinafter referred to as COP28) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Das Intellitech was invited to Dubai to showcase low-carbon technologies and innovative practices to the world.

01 COP28: "Focus on Action, Enhance Cooperation"

On November 30, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) opened in Dubai, UAE. At this conference, parties reviewed the progress of the goals set in the Paris Agreement signed in 2016 for the first time globally, marking an important stage in the global climate governance process.

The international community expects all parties to adhere to the institutional, principles, and goals of the climate change convention system and send positive signals focusing on action and enhancing cooperation. It is reported that the COP28 conference, themed "Unity, Action, Implementation," reflects the desire for unity and cooperation in addressing climate change.

As a responsible major developing country, China considers actively addressing climate change as an inherent requirement for achieving its own sustainable development and has contributed wisdom and strength to global climate governance. During the conference, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment organized the "China Pavilion" at COP28 to share China's experiences in addressing global climate change, showcase China's capabilities and determination to address climate change to the world, and strive to make more contributions to global climate change efforts.

02 Das Intellitech's Low-Carbon Technologies and Innovative Practices Showcased to the World

To deepen international influence, broaden cooperation channels, and achieve win-win cooperation with other cities around the world, the "China Pavilion" organized several thematic activities to showcase Shenzhen's experience in low-carbon and green development to the world and share cutting-edge technologies and products in green and low-carbon technology from Chinese enterprises with the world.

During the keynote speech session, Liu Bang, Chairman of Das Intellitech, delivered a wonderful presentation titled "Das Tower - Digital-Driven Practices for Building Decarbonization." Liu Bang first reviewed 13 years ago when Das Intellitech passed the listing review of the China Securities Regulatory Commission on the closing day of the 15th United Nations Climate Conference, becoming the first listed company in China specializing in building electromechanical operation energy saving. With the progress of the United Nations Climate Conference each year, Das Intellitech has also developed into a leading enterprise in intelligent and energy-saving buildings in China.

The Das Tower utilizes digital technology to drive decarbonization operations, using the self-developed AIoT intelligent Internet of Things control platform, connecting 20,000 devices, serving nearly 5,000 mobile applications. At the same time, based on artificial intelligence algorithms, it achieves global optimization and on-demand cooling, and uses the self-developed EMC007 central air conditioning energy-saving control system to achieve refined and energy-saving equipment management. In terms of energy management and conservation, the Das Tower adopts its self-developed EMS energy management system, which pushes rankings of energy consumption per unit area on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to enhance the awareness of all staff members. The building also employs a spatial scene control system for convenient operation by all staff members, reducing office energy consumption.

To make low-carbon technology benefit more places, based on the practice of efficient refrigeration rooms in the Das Tower, Das Intellitech, together with the Shenzhen Emissions Trading Co., Ltd., China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd., and Tsinghua University Shenzhen Research Institute, jointly compiled the "Methodology for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Efficient Refrigeration Rooms," aiming to help users reduce carbon emissions, reduce building energy consumption, and produce carbon credits through energy-saving services to promote more building owners to actively carry out building energy-saving activities.

As of the end of 2022, Das Intellitech has provided building energy-saving technologies and solutions to more than 100 clients and over 300 buildings in various fields such as building buildings and parks, hospitals, urban rail transit, and data centers, including representative cases such as the Shenzhen Civic Center, Shenzhen Baoheda Data Center, Shenzhen Metro Line 14, and Shantou Central Hospital.

By the end of 2022, Das Intellitech has saved 1.18 billion kWh of electricity for users, reducing approximately 1.176 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. With its outstanding performance in environmental protection and social responsibility, Das Intellitech was selected as an "excellent case of ESG practice for listed companies in 2023."

03 Das Tower: One of Shenzhen's Top Ten Green and Low-Carbon Cases

As a representative enterprise in the field of energy conservation in Shenzhen, Das Intellitech has been deeply engaged in the fields of intelligent building and building energy conservation for nearly 30 years. Based on the self-developed AIoT intelligent Internet of Things control platform and modular spatial scenario applications, Das Intellitech provides users with lifelong smart space and low-carbon energy-saving services. Das Intellitech's Shenzhen headquarters, the Das Tower, was successfully selected as one of Shenzhen's top ten green and low-carbon cases and was showcased on-site.

The Das Tower is a headquarters building independently invested and constructed by Das Intellitech. It is the first super high-rise green building in China with "dual standards and triple certifications" (LEED Platinum Design Certification, LEED Platinum Operation Certification, China Green Building Three-Star Certification, Shenzhen Green Building Platinum Certification). The Das Tower has created a "leading-level" ultra-efficient machine room with SCOP=6.31. The energy consumption per unit area of Das Tower's office section is 85 kWh/(a•m²), which is much lower than the energy consumption value of 120 kWh/(m²·a) of similar super high-rise buildings in Shenzhen, achieving energy-saving and low-carbon operation.

Under the premise of significantly improving energy efficiency, the Das Tower has neutralized the carbon emissions unavoidably generated by its operation activities by purchasing voluntary emission reduction credits (CERs) and became the first carbon-neutral building in Shenzhen in 2021, achieving building carbon neutrality for two consecutive years.

It is worth noting that the carbon-neutral practice of the Das Tower is based on the entire building as the verification boundary, rather than based on organizations. Das Intellitech took into account the characteristics of multi-tenant office buildings, actively invited and successfully invited five enterprises to jointly achieve carbon neutrality, fully demonstrating Das Intellitech's confidence and action as a listed company to fulfill its social responsibility.

04 Low-Carbon Action: A Challenge and an Opportunity

The challenge of low-carbon development in buildings is an unavoidable issue on the green development path of every city. According to the 2022 global skyscraper ranking statistics, the number of buildings over 200 meters in height in Shenzhen has reached 222, ranking first in the world; Dubai, the host city of COP28, has the highest population in the United Arab Emirates, with 145 buildings over 200 meters in height, ranking second in the world. Both international cities have large clusters of super high-rise buildings.

The continuous growth of building volume has intensified the overall energy consumption and carbon emissions of buildings. The low-carbon practice of the Das Tower undoubtedly sets a benchmark and demonstration for the low-carbon operation of super high-rise buildings worldwide. With actively effective energy-saving and emission reduction measures adopted, only in the field of the above-mentioned super high-rise buildings, the annual carbon dioxide emissions reduction will be calculated in millions of tons, bringing at least hundreds of millions of dollars in green economic value.

From Shenzhen to Dubai, from China to the world, Das Intellitech hopes to show the world the value of digital technology in building low-carbon operations and serve the world's buildings with China's digital and low-carbon technologies.

In the future, Das Intellitech will fully leverage its advantages as a leading enterprise in the Internet of Things to let energy-saving and carbon reduction technology innovation benefit more places, help China achieve its "dual carbon" goals, and contribute its strength to global climate governance.
